This week Mashable published its list of top six iPhone apps.  Number 2 on the list is aptly named 1Password.  This app could save me from internet insanity and make my constant struggle to remember and manage my passwords a thing of the past. I am already feeling liberated and the app is still downloading on my phone.

What is so great about this app?  Rather than having to remember different passwords for all your accounts or reuse the same easy to remember  (and easy to hack) password, 1Password generates secure passwords each time you sign up for an account and stores them behind a master password of your choosing.

For me, this will save the constant saga of resetting passwords again and again—only to be prompted that the password you are resetting has been used by you in the past, which leads to a need to come up with new passwords or variations on a theme that make logging into some of the sites I don’t frequent often, a little like playing password roulette.

I love the web. I hate passwords. 1Password just made my day. Now if I can just remember where I put my phone.
